At Settlr, we are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring the security of your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application and related services.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide
- Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and authentication credentials (via email/password or Google Sign-In)
- Profile Information: Name, nationality, visa type, residence permit expiry date, and country of residence that you provide to personalize your experience
- Reminders: Titles, dates, categories, and notification preferences for reminders you create within the app
- Process Progress: Your progress through step-by-step guides (e.g., residence permit, tax number, bank account setup)
1.2 Information Automatically Collected
- Device Information: Device type, operating system, unique device identifiers, mobile network information
- Usage Data: App usage patterns, features used, time spent in app, and crash reports
- Analytics Data: Performance metrics and user interaction data for app improvement, collected via Firebase Analytics
- Advertising Identifier (IDFA/GAID): With your permission (via the App Tracking Transparency prompt on iOS, or based on your device settings on Android), we may collect your advertising identifier to deliver personalized advertisements. You may withdraw this permission at any time in your device settings
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information for the following purposes:
- Service Delivery: Provide personalized expat guidance, step-by-step process tracking, and deadline reminders tailored to your situation in Türkiye
- Account Management: Create and manage your user account and authenticate users
- Personalization: Customize content, guides, and reminders based on your nationality, visa type, and permit status
- App Improvement: Analyze usage patterns to improve features and user experience
- Advertising: Display advertisements within the app for free-tier users. With your consent, we may show personalized ads based on your advertising identifier. Without consent, only non-personalized ads are shown. Premium subscribers do not see ads
- Customer Support: Respond to your requests, questions, and provide technical support
- Security: Detect, prevent, and address technical issues, crashes (via Firebase Crashlytics), and fraudulent activities
- Legal Compliance: Comply with applicable laws and regulations
3. Data Storage and Processing
Your Data in the Cloud
Your profile information, reminders, and process progress are stored in Google Firebase (Firestore) to enable cross-device synchronization and data persistence. This data is associated with your authenticated user account and is not shared with other users.
No sensitive documents are collected: Settlr provides guidance and checklists only. We do not ask you to upload or store copies of identity documents, passports, residence permits, or any other official documents.
4. Advertising and Tracking
This app displays advertisements provided by Google AdMob (Google LLC) to free-tier users. Premium subscribers do not see advertisements. To show relevant ads, Google AdMob may collect and use your advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS, GAID on Android) and other device information.
- On iOS: Before collecting your advertising identifier, the app will show an App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt asking for your permission. If you grant permission, personalized ads may be shown. If you decline, only non-personalized ads are shown and your IDFA is not used for ad targeting
- On Android: You can opt out of personalized ads via your device's Google settings
- What AdMob collects: Advertising identifier, IP address, device information, and app usage data for the purpose of serving and measuring ads

5. Information Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We share your information only with the following service providers, and only as necessary to deliver the app's features:
5.1 Third-Party Service Providers
- Google Firebase (Google LLC) — Authentication (Firebase Auth), database (Firestore), app performance monitoring (Firebase Crashlytics), and analytics (Firebase Analytics). Privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy

- RevenueCat, Inc. — Subscription and in-app purchase management. RevenueCat processes your purchase receipts and subscription status. Privacy policy: revenuecat.com/privacy
- Apple Inc. — In-app purchases and subscriptions on iOS are processed by Apple via the App Store. Privacy policy: apple.com/legal/privacy
- Google Play (Google LLC) — In-app purchases and subscriptions on Android are processed by Google via Google Play. Privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy
Each of these third-party providers has their own privacy policy and provides the same or equivalent level of data protection as required by applicable law.

- Access Controls: Strict access controls limit who can access your data. Your data is isolated to your authenticated account
- Secure Infrastructure: Use of secure cloud infrastructure (Google Firebase) with enterprise-grade security
- Crash Monitoring: Firebase Crashlytics is used to detect and fix app crashes to maintain stability and security
7. Your Rights and Choices
7.1 Access and Control
- Account Access: View and update your profile information at any time within the app
- Data Deletion: Request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us at pixip@pixip.tech
- Reminder Management: Add, view, and delete your reminders at any time within the app
- Opt-out of Tracking (iOS): You can change your ATT tracking permission at any time in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking
- Opt-out of Personalized Ads (Android): Go to Google Settings > Ads > Opt out of Ads Personalization
7.2 App Permissions
- Tracking (iOS only): Access your advertising identifier for personalized ads (optional; you can decline the ATT prompt)
- Internet: Required for authentication, data synchronization, and app functionality
- Notifications: Optional; used to send reminder notifications for upcoming deadlines
8. In-App Purchases and Subscriptions
Settlr offers optional premium subscription plans. Subscription purchases are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play), with subscription management handled by RevenueCat. We do not collect or store your payment card information. We receive only a confirmation of the purchase and your subscription status. Subscription management and cancellation are handled through your App Store or Google Play account settings.
9. Children's Privacy
Our service is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete such information promptly.
10. International Data Transfers
Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence, including the United States, where our service providers (Google, RevenueCat) operate. We ensure that such transfers comply with applicable data protection laws and that our service providers implement appropriate safeguards.
11. Data Retention
- Account Data: Retained for as long as your account is active, or until you request deletion
- Reminders and Progress: Retained as long as your account is active; deleted when your account is deleted
- Analytics Data: Retained for up to 2 years for app improvement purposes
- Legal Requirements: Some data may be retained longer if required by law
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new Privacy Policy in the app and updating the "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the service after such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
